The largest and highest mountain in Ramada Range. At 6700m (6770m according to maps) Mercedario is the 8th highest peak within the Andeans and the highest peak in the province of San Juan. Mercedario dominates her neighbouring peaks by more than 300 vertical metres. Only Aconcagua, at 6,965m, some 100km to the south, surpasses her in bulk and height within the region.

Mercedario is gaining popularity with international climbers seeking a challenging and less crowded peak than Aconcagua.

Mercedario´s Normal or North Route is the easiest and the most visited one. Also known as the Incas Route due to some archeological pieces found in the mountain. It is technically easy and very enjoyable, with great views of the Central Andeans.

We have been guiding expeditions and providing hosting services at Mercedario for more than 8 years. See below the itinerary to our Mercedario´s Normal Route Guided Tour and please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions you may have.
