Ramada Range is located approximately 80km West of the township of Barreal within the province of San Juan. The range, the highest peak of which is Cerro Mercedario at 6,770m, consists of 5 peaks over 6000m in altitude and 3 peaks under 6000m, all of them included in Valle del Colorado area.

Combining Ramada, Alma Negra and La Mesa peaks is an excellent way to get the most out of this place.

Ramada Peak 6,400m: This is the second highest peak and southern most peak of the Valle del Colorado. The peak is located in the upper Valle del Colorado adjacent to Alma Negra and La Mesa Peak . Ramada Peak offers non-technical lines of ascent although there is potential to establish a harder route through the headwall towers. The most popular and obvious line is the North East Ridge.

La Mesa Peak 6,200: This is the first peak that you will gain a glimpse of as you trek up Valle del Colorado towards base camp. Its long summit ridge connects with Alma Negra and also with Polish Peak. This heavily glaciated peak offers numerous lines of ascent and potential for several new lines to be established. La Mesa is perhaps the best looking mountain within Valle del Colorado, only surpassed by the beautiful Polish Peak with its dual summit cones.

Alma Negra Peak 6,120m: This is an excellent choice to acclimatize before going to any of the other peaks. It has a very easy approach through the Upper Colordado Valley and gains altitude very fast. Two camps can be set on the way, one of them at 4400 m and the other one at 5100 m. The route is just an enjoyable altitude walk between sandstone towers, Jurassic fossils (ammonites) and hanging glaciers on the side
