Don Mercedario Expeditions has been active for the last 14 years, providing hosting services to private expeditions and organizing climbing trips to Mercedario and other important mountains of the Central Andeans.

The idea was born in response to many climbers from different places of the world who wanted to visit Ramada Range and Mercedario Peak and did not have the necessary local infrastructure and information to accomplish their expeditions. With this purpose, Anibal Maturano (Don Mercedario´s director) started providing transportation and load transfers to different Base Camps in 1998.

Don Mercedario grew rapidly and in the year 1999 we successfully ran our first guided trip to Mercedario Normal Route. Since then, we have earned a deserved reputation as the best local oparators, advising climbers about all the potential of the region, giving reliable information about routes, access, logistic, local weather and running outstanding expeditions in the area.
